Sam Harma

Land Manager

Sam Harma has a strong history in regional economic development with leading roles in government and the not-for-profit sector.

Growing up and still calling the Great Southern home, he has a passion for the agriculture sector and the communities it supports.

Sam looks forward to working with local landholders and their families to drive long-term economic and environmental outcomes through the Wheatbelt Connect project.

Murray Crane

Plantation Manager

Murray Crane has over 20 years’ experience as a Mechanical Engineer and Project Manager in the agriculture and onshore resource industries, including renewable fuels and machinery design.

Murray’s experience spans across design, delivery, and commissioning with extensive knowledge on a range of equipment and facilities. He is also experienced in operating broadacre, livestock and horticultural farms in the Wheatbelt and South West.

Beren Spencer-Grayling

Revegetation Specialist

Dr Beren Spencer has spent over 15 years’ researching the domestication of native woody biomass crops integrated into farming systems for carbon sequestration, biofuel, and Landcare benefits.

His career has included time with the Western Australian State Government’s Revegetation Systems Unit and as a Project Leader for the Future Farms Industry Cooperative Research Centre.

The knowledge gained across Beren’s industry experience culminated in the completion of his PhD which included the publication of valuable datasets in numerous peer-reviewed international journals.
